Бернштам, Леопольд Адольфович (1859-1939)
Russian sculptor, born in Riga, Latvia. Had a personal studio since the age of 14. Studied at Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Worked in Rome in 1884, moved to Paris in 1885. Created many historical portraits of famous people of the time in bronze and marble.
Became a Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur in 1891.
