Russian Bronze Evaluation & Appraisal
Got a Russian bronze?
We can help you identify, evaluate or sell it. We do not charge you for this service.
Just email us some images of your bronze. Make sure to show us all of the markings, signatures and underneath the bronze, if possible.
As we’ve been dealing with Russian bronze sculptures for years, you will get a prompt, same-day response with the estimates of your piece. Do not worry about trying to figure out the Cyrillic inscriptions – we know all of the Russian artists and foundries, as well as the 19th century bronze casting history of Russia.
Based on our own experience and comparative analogy with the Russian Museums Catalogs and archives, you will get a very accurate evaluation and other useful information.
If you decide to sell your bronze, we can suggest you two options:
- Recommend your bronze for consignment at one of the major auctions conducting a specialized Russian Sale.
- Make you an offer of a prompt payment.
The first option may work for you if you are not in a hurry and can wait about 2-3 months after consigning, plus another 35 days after the sale, before you get paid by the auction. Auction competition may give you some very good results. Never the less, you should know that potential buyers always keep in mind that they must pay about 20% buyer’s premium on top of the hammer price. Also, the auction will charge you about 10-15 % commission, plus insurance and cataloging fees in some cases.
The second option works faster if chosen. Money paid in a few days by bank wire, check or cash. Shipping, delivery or pick up services available at your convenience.
