N. Shleifer was an influential governmental and political figure, as well as a talented sculptor-portraitist.
Was serving Russian Empire within a diplomatic consulate in Italy and Germany.
Has created the very first out of Russia monument for Anton Pavlovich Chekhov in Germany (Banedweiler, 1908).
